Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas – Faith-Based Addiction Recovery

Adult & Teen Challenge of Texas provides long-term residential addiction recovery for men and women in San Antonio who are struggling with alcohol, drugs and other life-controlling issues. The nonprofit ministry operates a Christ-centered recovery model focused on long-term personal transformation rather than short-term stabilization. Adult & Teen Challenge describes its adult programs as low-cost and provides 24/7 residential care.

At the San Antonio campus, residents receive housing, meals, transportation, mentoring, group counseling and Bible-based education. Programs also address areas such as relapse prevention, anger management, parenting, drug and alcohol education and personal development. Vocational development is another important part of the program. Opportunities at the San Antonio men's campus include GED courses and testing, financial and budgeting education, driver-safety training, food-management certification, woodworking, welding and automotive training.

Adult & Teen Challenge also provides biblical counseling and wellness support to residential participants. Individual mentoring begins early in the program, while longer-term residents may participate in group discipleship and counseling programs addressing relationships, stress, shame, past experiences and destructive behavioral patterns.
