Aid the Silent – Hearing Aid Assistance & Deaf Resources in San Antonio

Aid the Silent helps deaf and hard-of-hearing children and teens in San Antonio and Texas gain greater access to communication, education, resources and community. The nonprofit assists children and teens from birth through age 22 while still in high school who have medically diagnosed hearing loss and demonstrated financial hardship. Aid the Silent provides financial assistance for communication resources such as hearing aids, FM systems, American Sign Language (ASL) lessons and speech therapy.


Aid the Silent also provides in-house audiology services for clients approved through its financial assistance program. Services include hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings, custom ear molds and hearing aid programming. The organization supports families regardless of their preferred communication approach. Aid the Silent states that it supports individuals who use hearing aids, cochlear implants, sign language, lip reading or a combination of communication methods.


Aid the Silent also supports educators of deaf and hard-of-hearing students through assistance with classroom accommodations, curriculum, equipment, continued deaf education, field-trip accommodations, language acquisition and literacy resources. Its programs extend beyond hearing technology. The organization promotes Deaf Awareness, Deaf Resources, Deaf Education and Deaf Ministry, helping young people build friendships, participate in accessible activities and become part of a supportive community.

Educate the community and promote inclusion and acceptance through full accommodations and accessibility.

Deaf Resources

Provides financial assistance for communication resources such as hearing aids, assistive communication devices, sign language lessons and speech therapy.

Deaf Education

Financially assists deaf educators with classroom accommodations, supplies and equipment, outreach inclusion, and training and conference fees.

Deaf Ministry

Provides funding of deaf youth camper fees, accessibility resources and bi-lingual counselors to faith-based camps. Provides for needs for families who are needing resources.
