Autism Treatment Center – Autism Therapy & Support in San Antonio

Autism Treatment Center provides autism therapy and lifelong support for children and adults in San Antonio. Founded in 1976, the nonprofit's mission is to assist people with autism and related disorders as they learn, play, work and live in their communities. ATC's San Antonio outpatient programs include Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), speech therapy and occupational therapy. The organization is currently enrolling new patients for these therapy programs.

ABA therapy uses individualized treatment plans and positive reinforcement to develop communication, attention, social, academic and independence skills while addressing challenging behaviors. Speech therapy helps improve communication, language, speech production, social language and certain feeding-related skills. Occupational therapy helps participants increase independence through skills involving self-care, fine motor development, balance, coordination and everyday activities.

ATC also operates a Texas Education Agency-approved nonpublic school for students with autism and related conditions whose behavioral needs prevent them from successfully learning in a public-school setting. The year-round program serves school-age students up to age 22 and incorporates individualized education plans, special education teachers, ABA-based behavioral supports, speech therapy and occupational therapy.
