Bethel A.M.E. Church is a historic African Methodist Episcopal church serving individuals and families in San Antonio through worship, Christian ministry and community outreach. Through the A.R. Nelson Christian Outreach Center, Bethel A.M.E. Church provides food, clothing and limited financial assistance to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship. Food assistance is distributed based on family size, with an emphasis on providing healthy and nutritious food whenever possible. Clothing for men, women and children is also available.

Additional assistance may be available depending on individual needs and available resources. Prayer, spiritual encouragement and Christian fellowship are offered to people seeking faith-based support. The A.R. Nelson Christian Outreach Center is located at 225 N.
