Black Outside, Inc. is a San Antonio-based nonprofit organization that connects Black and African-American youth and families with nature through culturally relevant outdoor education, camping, hiking, mentorship and leadership experiences. Programs provide young people with opportunities to explore parks and natural areas in San Antonio, Central Texas and across the United States while developing confidence, leadership skills, positive relationships and a deeper connection with the natural world.

Camp Founder Girls is a historically Black summer camp for girls that encourages bravery, creativity, confidence and outdoor exploration through meaningful camp experiences. Brothers With the Land connects Black and African-American boys with outdoor experiences centered on leadership, healing and mentorship. Black Outside also offers Homecoming, a community-based program designed to reconnect Black and African-American families with the outdoors and create opportunities for families to experience nature together.

Through outdoor adventures, mentorship and culturally relevant programming, Black Outside works to remove barriers to outdoor participation and help develop a new generation of young people who feel confident exploring, enjoying and leading in outdoor spaces.
