Buckner International is a faith-based nonprofit organization serving vulnerable children, families and seniors through programs designed to strengthen families, protect children and help people overcome difficult seasons of life. In San Antonio, the Buckner Family Hope Center provides free support for families with children. Families can receive personalized guidance and connect with programs addressing challenges involving parenting, employment, finances, housing stability, mental health, education and lack of family or community support.

Services may include free counseling, parenting education, after-school activities for school-age children, family coaching, educational opportunities and connections to community resources. Families work with Buckner staff to identify their needs, establish goals and develop a plan for greater stability and long-term success. The goal is not simply to address an immediate problem, but to help parents and children strengthen relationships, develop skills and overcome barriers that can place a family at risk.

Buckner Family Hope Centers can also support parents working toward reunification when a child has been removed from the home. Families can receive guidance and support as they work toward goals required to safely reunite with their children.
