Hill Country Family Services (HCFS) is a nonprofit organization providing crisis assistance to individuals and families in Boerne and Kendall County who are experiencing financial hardship, food insecurity, emotional challenges, or other unexpected emergencies. Financial assistance is available to qualifying households experiencing a crisis. They provide one-time assistance by making payments directly to landlords, utility companies, or other providers for essential expenses.

Families experiencing food insecurity can receive assistance through the food pantry. Eligible clients may receive up to three months of pantry shopping, helping households access nutritious food while they work toward greater financial stability. They provide case management, community resource navigation, and referrals. Staff help individuals identify their immediate needs, locate appropriate community programs, and develop a plan for moving beyond the crisis toward greater stability and self-sufficiency.

They provide confidential, trauma-informed counseling for children, adults, and families, with scholarships available to help make mental health care accessible. Additional assistance can include clothing and household necessities for individuals and families experiencing hardship. They work with nonprofits, schools, first responders, and other community partners throughout Kendall County to create a coordinated network of support.
