Penne L. Jaster

Penne Jaster has been a nurse practitioner for 22 years with the last 8 working for Life Choices Medical Clinic. She said, they recently helped a 39-year-old mom who did not expect to get pregnant and because of her daughter’s good experience with an earlier visit, mom and daughter chose Life Choices Medical Clinic. Penne said, the number one priority is that the moms have a safe place, and they are heard, not rushed and given personalized care.

They take care of people who are uninsured, underinsured & immigrants that have difficulty accessing primary, obstetric & chronic care. Some moms cannot afford a standard medical practice, so they provide low-cost pregnancy & primary care. They help pregnant moms who need direction on how to navigate their pregnancy. Many newly pregnant moms don’t know what prenatal care is nor why it is important.

The clinic is set up to assist with the testing, counseling, education and medical care to get them on the road to a healthy pregnancy. They strive to make sure a patient has access to care within 2 weeks. Life Choices provides internal medicine services through a volunteer MD offering chronic disease management on a personal level for men and women ages 18 and above. Screenings for sexually transmitted infections and relationship counseling are also offered low cost to anyone seeking services.

Life Choices does full women’s health screens, blood work, metabolic panel, chronic illness management, everything needed to get the patient back to health. She stated, how & where do people learn about pap smears, screenings, or about body changes between ages 18-22 or 22-29 or later in life? Life Choices wants to be a trusted source for health and wellness education throughout their lifespan. Being proactive in establishing trusted relationships in the healthcare setting is key to the journey of living a healthy lifestyle. She stated that there are medical providers that want to spend time with people to fulfill their calling and gifts. The providers here have the physical space and time to serve and practice.
