Meant to Soar – Helping Children Heal From Trauma

Meant to Soar is a faith-based nonprofit helping children ages 6–13 in Bexar and Comal Counties heal from trauma related to parental drug or alcohol addiction and human trafficking. The organization provides personalized healing experiences designed to help children recognize their value, build confidence, discover their unique gifts, develop new interests, and overcome the emotional effects of difficult childhood experiences.

Rather than using the same approach for every child, Meant to Soar considers each child's unique interests, talents, and experiences. Children are given opportunities to explore activities that can encourage creativity, confidence, healthy relationships, and personal growth. Meant to Soar specifically supports children who have experienced the effects of parental substance use or human trafficking. These experiences can have long-term emotional, behavioral, social, and educational effects on children, even when the child was not personally trafficked or using substances.

Through counseling, creative experiences, physical activities, supportive relationships, and faith, Meant to Soar seeks to help children move beyond trauma and recognize their God-given value and potential. For families looking for trauma support for children, help for children affected by parental addiction, or resources for children affected by human trafficking in San Antonio, Bexar County, or Comal County, Meant to Soar provides personalized opportunities for healing, growth, and connection.
