Mexican American Unity Council (MAUC) – Housing, Education & Community Services

Mexican American Unity Council, Inc. (MAUC) is a San Antonio nonprofit and community development organization helping individuals and families improve their lives through housing, education, economic opportunity, and community-based services. They provide programs designed to strengthen families, improve housing stability, expand educational opportunities, and help residents work toward greater financial independence.


The MAUC Homestead Preservation Center helps residents identify housing-related needs and connect with available community resources. Assistance and referrals may address housing counseling, financial capability, rent and utility assistance, title issues, homeownership, and other housing concerns. They develop and operates affordable housing communities serving seniors and low- to moderate-income families. Resident programs can provide additional education, financial literacy, family support, and community activities.


Programs include GED preparation, ESL classes, adult literacy, parenting education, youth activities, and college and career readiness opportunities for students. Senior residents may also have access to nutrition programs, food assistance, transportation, wellness activities, educational programs, and connections to healthcare and community resources.
