The families and members of NAMI Greater San Antonio are here to help! We offer understanding to anyone concerned about mental illnesses and the treatment of mental illness. Mental illnesses are brain disorders that are biologically based medical problems. Untreated, they can cause severe disturbances in thinking, feeling and relating. This results in substantially diminished capacity for dealing with the ordinary demands of life. Mental illness can affect persons of any age and occur in any family. They are not caused by bad parenting and not evidence of weakness of character.
The NAMI Bexar Warm Line is a free pre-crisis line that connects people to specialists who can lend a compassionate ear and/or connect them to resources in the community.
Anyone can call to receive resources and support. We help you find food, housing, utility assistance, mental health support, and more. We can also tell you about the free mental health education programs we have to offer. Specialists are available every day from 8:00am - 11:00pm. The NAMI Bexar Warm Line supports you when your need someone to talk to, but you're not in immediate danger.
