P.E.A.C.E. Initiative (Putting An End to Abuse through Community Efforts) is a San Antonio nonprofit dedicated to preventing domestic and family violence through education, advocacy, community collaboration and violence prevention programs. Established in 1990, P.E.A.C.E. Initiative works with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, schools, faith communities, health care professionals and community members to increase awareness of domestic violence and improve the community's response to individuals and families affected by abuse.

The organization provides domestic violence education and training designed to help community members and professionals better recognize abuse, understand its consequences and respond effectively when someone is experiencing family or intimate partner violence. P.E.A.C.E. Initiative also provides education about teen dating violence to schools and young people in the San Antonio area. These programs help students understand healthy relationships, recognize warning signs of abusive behavior and learn about dating violence prevention.

Through coalition building and advocacy, P.E.A.C.E. Initiative works with organizations and community leaders throughout San Antonio and Bexar County to strengthen domestic violence prevention and intervention efforts. The organization also works with faith communities to increase awareness of domestic violence and help congregations develop effective ways to address abuse and support people affected by family violence.

P.E.A.C.E. Initiative does not function primarily as an emergency shelter. Its work focuses on education, prevention, advocacy, training and collaboration to help create a San Antonio community where individuals and families can live free from violence.
