Pay It Forward SA is a San Antonio nonprofit providing supportive sober living, recovery housing and resources for people recovering from substance use disorders who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of becoming homeless. Founded in 2010, Pay It Forward SA helps bridge the gap between substance use treatment and long-term recovery. The Bridge Program connects people in recovery with sober living homes throughout San Antonio. Financial assistance may help eligible individuals overcome the initial costs of entering sober housing while connecting them with services and resources that support long-term recovery and self-sufficiency. Pay It Forward SA also operates a Sober Living Dorm Program at the Haven for Hope campus. The program provides structured sober housing and recovery support for eligible Bexar County residents who have completed substance use treatment and are at risk of homelessness.

Participants receive individualized recovery coaching and connections to important community resources. Support may include assistance obtaining identification documents, job search and employment resources, medical and dental care, mental health services, legal assistance, transportation and connections to food resources. Pay It Forward SA uses a 12-step recovery framework emphasizing personal responsibility, accountability, supportive relationships and long-term sobriety. Recovery coaches provide ongoing guidance as participants work toward rebuilding stable and self-sufficient lives.
