San Antonio Youth Literacy (SAYL) is a nonprofit helping elementary school children strengthen their reading and comprehension skills through individualized literacy support. Its Reading Buddy Program pairs trained adult volunteers with students who are reading below grade level. Volunteers meet individually with students at participating elementary schools and program sites, helping children practice reading while building confidence and enjoyment of books.
