Christian Homeless Outreach Ministry in San Antonio, TX

Taking It To The Streets is a nonprofit Christian ministry serving people experiencing homelessness and poverty in San Antonio. Through meals, clothing, basic necessities, compassionate relationships and faith-based outreach, the ministry helps meet immediate needs while building friendship, community, dignity and hope.


Every Saturday night, Taking It To The Streets serves approximately 200–250 men and women in downtown San Antonio. Volunteers help prepare and serve meals, distribute clothing and necessities, provide prayer and encouragement, and build meaningful relationships with people in need. Taking It To The Streets provides:

  • Free Saturday evening meals
  • Clothing, jackets, blankets and socks
  • Basic necessities for people in need
  • Christian fellowship and prayer
  • Friendship and compassionate support
  • Volunteer churches & groups
  • Meal preparation & food-service

Individuals, families, churches and community groups can volunteer with Taking It To The Streets. Opportunities include preparing meals, serving food, hosting tables, distributing clothing, leading Bible studies and providing other services and special blessings for guests. Taking It To The Streets believes that helping people experiencing homelessness means more than meeting immediate physical needs.
